Birthday Yard Signs
If you need a fun, cheap, easy way to surprise someone on their birthday...
I take paper plates and write HAPPY BIRTHDAY or the number of how old they are turning on the plates. I use regular wire coat hangers and straighten them out with the hanger "hook" being the part I stick into the ground. You need two plates for each hanger. Then I staple the plates onto the straightened coat hanger so the writing will show on both sides.
This top photo I used 18 hanger signs (36 plates), because my granddaughter was turning 18. I went to her house after midnight and put them in her yard. We stopped by the next morning on our way to work and my husband snapped this photo out the car window as we drove by.
The next photo I only used 6 hanger signs (12 plates) and lined the lucky person's drive, plus added a styrofoam "head stone." I did this one during the day, the birthday girl was working! So never toss those wire hangers...they can be used!
When my oldest daughter turned 30, I put 30 hanger signs (60 plates) all over her front yard and it was quite an impact. The more you use the better it looks. I also went back at the end of the day and retrieved the hangers and reused them eight months later when her best friend turned 30. The only danger is sneaking around in the middle of the night to decorate someone's yard!

ReplyDeleteWoah! I’m really loving the stuff of this blog. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s challenging to get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and visual appearance. I must say you have done a amazing job with this. Excellent Blog!
