Learning from Facebook

I love finding things on Face book that actually has something to learn, instead of all the other nonsense that people post. Thanks to the people who posted the following Face book learning tips.

Indian Tacos

My daughter is so funny...she sends me some awesome ideas and photos of stuff to put on my blog. And she also sends me food photos just to make me drool...she know how much I love Indian Tacos and that Melissa's made from scratch fry bread is soooo good...so she sent me these photos! I told her it was not nice to just send me the photos, when she knew how much I would want one myself! She really dolled these up...fry bread, taco seasoned hamburger, lettuce, tomato, black olives, sour cream, guacamole, and shredded cheese.

Oklahoma Spring

This week we had a ice storm. Shut down businesses, etc. because it knocked the electricity out. Next week they are forcasting snow for our area! This is Oklahoma....SRRING?

Travel Art Box

It is never too early to think about traveling with kids on long summer trips. I found this neat plastic container at the Family Dollar store, with handles that flip up and down to open and close the lid. The lid is flat so the child could use the container as a lap desk. The container is 11 x 14 x 3. I was able to put a drawing tablet, notebook paper, two coloring books, colored pencils, mechanical pencils, markers, crayons, a pencil sharpener, flashlight, and pipe cleaners in the box to offer a variety of keep busy tasks.

Sunrise in Rearview Mirror

This was two different mornings on the way to work.

The Oklahoma sunrise was a big orange ball
and shows in these photos as bright yellow light!
It is always so beautiful.
I am just glad I am going west and not east into the sunrise brightness.

The Sound of Color - 2nd Grade Musical

Granny's Love aka Our Grandson preformed in his second grade musical
"The Sound of Color"
He was a shark, thus the reason for him wearing a shark hat in these photos.
It may well have been one of the best school musical shows we have ever seen.
The director had such great command on the students
and from what I could tell everyone was on their mark at the precise time.
It was great!
We took a couple family type photos after it was over.
These are memories that will last a life time.

Jack Daniel's Pulled Pork

My daughter found this Jack Daniel's Pulled Pork, with Jack Daniel's Barbeque Sauce, and said it is really good stuff. All you do is heat and serve. She toasted some hogie type buns to put hers on and said it was great.

Boys will be Boys

I was talking to my son the other day and he was telling me about how the kids in his neighborhood all seemed to congregate at his house. He had looked out and had ten kids playing in his yard. He said he could not believe that the parents just let the kids stay so long. And how he had told a couple of them, that were suppose to be home by five, that it was time for them to go home.

I was just listening to all of his story with a smile on my face. It is funny how he has forgotten that when he was that age he would take off and go play for hours at a time. He said they do not let their boys get out of sight of the house and that they were not allowed to ride their bike any farther than the end of the street. Again, I was smiling remembering how he would ride off to the neighborhood school grounds or down to the local park without permission.

Grandsons Blake, Chase, Austin

Now take a look at this photo...do these three boys look like they would do any of the things my son use to do at their age. Do they look like they would disobey their parents? Do they look like they would forget to go home when it was time to leave? Do they look like they could get into mischief? Now I am laughing...I remember the old saying...pay backs are hell.

Veggie Medley Chips

The package on these chips say "It's a Veggie Medley of flavor - crispy, crunchy, wavy chips bursting with real spinach, tomato, and potato. Gently cooked and seasoned with Mediterranean sea salt, they're a delicious alternative to ordinary potato chips...with 30% less fat." We think they are pretty good tasting chips. I found them in the health food section.

Yamato Steakhouse of Japan Norman, OK

My daughter sent me these photos of when she and her friends went to the Yamato Steakhouse of Japan restaurant in Norman, Oklahoma.  She said it is awesome! They sat around the grill and all of their food was cooked while they watched. It was good food with great entertainment watching it being cooked.

Tie Quilt

I have noticed lately that men's ties are going back to the thin version. I saw this tie quilt on the internet using the wide type of men's ties. Using the ties to make this awesome sunburst design was a great idea to reuse those old ties. You can find old ties at second hand store for a little of nothing if you don't have a closet full already.

Do you have any ideas for reusing old men's ties?
